Fiona Paxton and other weekend activities

I've been loving these necklaces by Fiona Paxton.

So this weekend I attempted a version of my own. It didn't turn out very similar but I like it.

This one's for me but feel free to contact me if you're interested in one.

Another necklace I made this weekend...I love the color combinations but I do not love the quality of the chain. So I'll keep it for myself but can recreate it with better quality materials if you so wish!

Lisztomania!!

Going to see Phoenix tomorrow night with the gals from work. So pumped! I am obsessed with this band lately. Can't wait to see them live.

Plus they're playing at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago which is awesome and huge. It's going to be a fun night.

Note to self: I must not drink too much. Do not handle hangovers at work well.

Sorry to get all wedding-y...

It may this way for a while though...I'm engaged, what can I say. I look at wedding blogs and think about all the crazy (expensive) shit I should have at my wedding. Today I want peacocks.

In other news...Eric was laid off last week. So maybe I should give the wedding blog cruising a rest for a bit.

Debaires : handcrafted accessories

I bought a little bracelet from the cute Argentine sisters of Debaires on Saturday. I don't have a picture of my bracelet but here are some of the other gorgeous pieces they make.

some pics

Just thought I would share some pictures from our vacation earlier this summer. Although I'm totally sad that summer is on it's way out, I'm feeling the back to school spirit right now. Starting fresh and all that...I'm trying at least!

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore - totally gorgeous.

There are some new items up in the shop - please stop by and take a look.

Almondine Necklace - long

Belladonna Necklace

Everyone have a fantastic weekend!

things are looking up

It's saturday morning, I'm going to Renegade Handmade Chicago later and the sun is shining. The best part - I'm not at work. My day job that is, rose lake is work that I like!

from Wide Open Spaces

Just found this blog and so far...love it.

Renegade Handmade Chicago

I'm going to the Renegade Handmade show in Chicago this weekend with a few girlfriends and am very excited. I almost did a booth there myself this year but wimped out. Looking forward to scoping it out for next year. If you're in Chicago - come! Visit the site for more info.

How awesome is this photo. Found here on Style Me Pretty.

How did the photographer manage to capture that moment? It's so cool.

In news regarding our wedding, we've picked a spot and set a date! It doesn't feel quite real yet, we still need to pay the deposit. But we have it hold! The ceremony and reception will take place at the Snow Moon Ranch in Maple City, MI. Very near Glen Arbor if you're familiar with the area.

This place is a total hidden gem, there is no website and I'm actually quite proud of myself for finding it. I have contact information and more pictures if anyone is interested!

I'm back!

Back from a week long vacation. We've been on a tour of Michigan and deep in the wilderness. It still feels a little weird to be on the computer and have access to running water. I have more pictures to post throughout the week.

The Straits of Mackinaw - where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet at the top of the lower peninsula.

Lake Huron - my family's cottage

The Au Sable river near Iargo Springs, a Native American gathering place for the believed magical powers of the spring's water.
