Tiger Iron Jasper

In love with these stones I got a Planet Bead in Milwaukee. Tiger Iron Jasper is a natural mixture of Tiger's Eye, Red Jasper and Hematite. Also known as Mugglestone!

Sometimes I have the hardest time making a piece with the beads I love the most. So I'll be thinking about how to use these for a while...

also

I love purple, it's probably my favorite color. I say "probably" because I don't want to have to commit to a one favorite forever. But I do love it. So I also loved this post on sfgirlbybay. A few of my favorites...

Is the same painting used in both of the 2 rooms above? Same Domino set designer perhaps....

Toast

I was turned on to Toast by Mrs. French over at Bliss. I just love this catalog. The clothes are so pretty and the photography makes me desparate to go where these people are.

I just noticed that every picture I chose features big and beautiful necklaces. My style is consistent!

Toast also has a home department.

It is my dream to have a shower outside someday.

Back to Reality

I'm back from a trip to California where everything is in bloom. I hope it won't be much longer in Chicago.

Diana

On Friday I dropped off my first roll of 120 film, shot with my Diana F+ Lomographic camera, to Ritz Camera for developing. I'm picking up the pictures today and I cannot wait to see how they turned out. Stay tuned for my show and tell!

Venice Beach

In a few days I'll be leaving for a little early spring trip to southern California.  My first stop upon arrival will be Venice Beach.  I'm planning a stroll around town, some shopping on Abbot Kinney Blvd, and definitely some time on the beach.  I cannot wait to feel the sunshine.  And see my sister!  Any other stops I should make while in Venice Beach??  Let me know.

Statement Necklaces

For spring I am all about a big, chunky, striking statement necklace. I'm really inspired by the styling from jcrew lately.

And here is one interpretation, the Robin Necklace, now available in the shop.

There are matching earrings too!

It's Monday

The sun is shining in Chicago today after a pretty miserable weekend of pouring rain and gloominess. I'm excited to work on some new pieces this week and I'll be posting a few pictures throughout the week. I also got some amazing beads while in Milwaukee this weekend and I can't wait to share them!

Love this work of art by Jennifer Maestre (found on Design*Sponge).

Happy Weekend!

I am off on an impromptu weekend trip to lovely Milwaukee with Eric. And while I'm there I'll be stopping by the awesome bead store, Planet Bead. The owner stocks some beautiful stones and the store has a great vibe. I can't wait. Have a fabulous weekend all!

Azure Grackle

I found this Etsy artist today and I am really drawn to her work. She creates these prints by hand carving wood blocks and layering designs in oil-based inks.

Music of Spheres

The images below show how the wood blocks are carved and used to print the design of the piece above.
