Best Day Ever!!

Today I won the monthly contest on Kate Szabone's Facebook group page. And my prize? A rose cut diamond ring in the color of my choice! I'm so excited! Seriously, this is awesome. And I only had to be a member of her group to be entered. It was a fabulous surprise.

You can get one too! The ring and stone options can be found here.

I've been a fan of Kate's for a while now. I even had a post about her a while back.

Thank you Kate!!

what I did this weekend

I had quite the busy weekend. On Saturday morning I flew into Detroit to pick up our new Jeep. I got to spend time with my mom, my sister and some girlfriends I don't get to see often: awesome. I also saw a large collection of hookah pipes.

This morning I journeyed back to Chicago and stopped at the beach on my way home.

Gorgeous day.

I go to the beach a lot, huh?

Confession

I haven't made any jewelry in weeks. I don't know why. I feel lazy and unmotivated. I need to snap out of this!

But luckily these beauts have me feeling inspired. I picked these up at a cute bead shop in Northport, MI (sorry, don't remember the name!) I am a sucker for stones with banding. They speak to me.

My sky

Also, I got hit in the head with a softball the other night. That sucked.

back to the real world

Welcome back from a long summer holiday weekend. Eric and I went camping at the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore. What a beautiful area. The sky was the brightest blue and the sun felt so good here. The sand dunes are magical and so is the crystal clear water. Green rolling hills. You couldn't ask for better. More pictures to post soon!

In other news, I spent all evening (and most of the last 2 hours at my day job) reading from start to present, The Nosiy Plume blog. I've been a regular reader for the last few months but decided today that I needed to go back and start from the beginning. This girl has led a very interesting life. She is an extremely talented and successful metalsmith. And a great writer too. A good read. Check out her Etsy shop here.

That's all for tonight. Sweet dreams!
